Lanao Del Norte LGU Presents Economic Activities to MINDA, Oro Chamber

The provincial government of Lanao del Norte presents to the Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Oro Chamber) and Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA)-Northern Mindanao the economic activities in the province in preparation for its business investment portfolio.

Among the local agricultural products presented during the meeting are those derived from abaca fiber, coconut, corn, and rice.

The business investment portfolio will be used to highlight the province, particularly in forging partnerships with other stakeholders and prospective investors, during the upcoming Mindanao Food Congress this October in Cagayan de Oro City.

Together with the Oro Chamber and MinDA, Lanao del Norte will be one of the hosts and exhibitors during the congress. The event will be participated by major key players and stakeholders in the food industry to discuss strategies for attaining food sustainability and security in Mindanao.

Lanao del Norte will also present at the congress its Metro Iligan Regional Agro-Industrial Center (MIRAIC), a 77.3-hectare estate in the town of Linamon that the provincial government is developing as the next agricultural and industrial hub in the region.

“Through the Mindanao Food Congress, we can invite potential locators in MIRAIC,” said Provincial Agriculture Office head Letecia Ditucalan.

The Republic of India also commits to participate in the 5-day congress.

“India can be a possible locator at the MIRAIC. “We will assist [Lanao del Norte] with its portfolio,” said Oro Chamber president Raymundo Talimio.

“Aside from investors, many of our partners and stakeholders are also looking for special products they can bring with them,” said Lordilie Enjambre, Development Management Officer III of MinDA-Northern Mindanao.

Lanao del Norte Governor Imelda Dimaporo will also serve as a speaker during one of the plenary sessions of the congress.
