Korean superstar IU wows fans in record-breaking concert in the Philippines

Five years since her last concert in the country, Korean superstar IU mesmerized fans with her powerful vocals during a record-breaking concert in the Philippine Arena. Proud Filipino songbirds joined IU in singing along, with a whopping 37,000 voices filling the arena.

Presented by Pulp Live World with PLDT HOME, the concert featured IU performing her hit songs like “Holssi,” “Jam Jam,” “Ah Puh,” and “BBIBBI,” with fans’ lightsticks syncing to the beat.

IU expressed her delight at the overwhelming response from the crowd, noting that it had been five years since she last visited the country. She praised the Filipino fans for their loud cheers and enthusiastic participation during her performances.

The concert also saw IU engaging with her Filipino fans, showcasing her new Filipino words and treating them to a romantic rendition of Sun Kissed Lola’s “Pasilyo” and her hit song “Through the Night.”

IU’s performance was met with thunderous applause and multiple encores, with fans singing along to her iconic songs like “Good Day” and “Palette.” The Philippine leg of IU’s “HEREH Tour” set a new attendance record for a female artist in the Philippine Arena, with 37,000 seats sold.

IU promised fans that she wouldn’t wait another five years to return to the Philippines, expressing her desire to come back soon. The concert ended on a high note with IU taking requests from the crowd and performing the acoustic version of “Palette.”

The Filipino crowd’s energy and passion impressed IU, who commended them for their multitasking skills and enthusiastic support throughout the night. The concert concluded with a rock version of “Well,” followed by an additional song requested by fans.
