Improved Road Boosts Tourism in Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has improved portions of the Eastern Bulacan Road in Doña Remedios Trinidad (DRT), Bulacan to facilitate better access to major tourism destinations in the town.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing reports from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, said that road sections measuring 6.74 lane kilometers and 3.38 lane kilometers from Barangay Sapang Bulak to Barangay Camachile were upgraded through asphalt overlaying.

DRT, which is dubbed as Bulacan’s “Last Frontier”, hosts a combination of man-made landmarks, resort getaways, and natural wonders such as the Puning Cave in Brgy. Bayabas, Secret Falls in Brgy. Camachile, Candle Monument in Brgy. Camachin, Tila-Pilon Hills in Brgy. Kalawakan, Verdivia Falls in Brgy. Talbak, and the Caribbean Waves Resort in Brgy. Pulong Sampaloc.

Secretary Bonoan said that the completion of the road rehabilitation and preventive maintenance projects enables visitors to experience more convenient and safer access to DRT’s top tourist destinations with travel time significantly reduced to encourage travelers from nearby areas, particularly Metro Manila, to explore the town’s many attractions.

“The boost in tourism brought about by ease of travel in the town is also expected to open more economic opportunities for DRT residents,” added Secretary Bonoan.

With a total allocation of P96.5 million, the road improvement projects were implemented by the DPWH Bulacan Second District Engineering Office (DEO).
