Improved Local Roads Lead to Better Connectivity in Dingalan, Aurora

The completed three (3) road improvement projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Dingalan, Aurora have facilitated better mobility for residents and connectivity to other areas.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing reports from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, identified the Barangays Matawe, Paltic, and Tanawan as the recipients of the road projects that cost P24.62 million to complete.

Implemented by DPWH Aurora District Engineering Office (DEO), a total of 2.06-lane-kilometers of local barangay roads were upgraded through concrete paving and other related works conducted from February 2022 to July 2022.

In Barangay Matawe, line canals and cross drainage were included to the newly-concreted five-meter wide, two-lane road to avoid unwanted flooding on the carriageway during rainy season.

The Barangay Paltic Road is now servicing the most populous neighborhood in the Municipality of Dingalan, which is also considered as the premiere barangay in the northern portion of the town due to its numerous tourist destinations and coastal attractions.

Meanwhile, the paved road in Barangay Tanawan, near the local elementary school, will make it easier for students to reach the school especially with the return to in-person instruction this school year.

According to OIC-District Engineer Roderick A. Andal, the continuous improvement of roads in Aurora Province will play a crucial role in the development of local economy that will also enhance living conditions of the people.
