DPWH Provides 3-storey Multi-purpose Building in the Freeport Area of Bataan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has provided the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) in Barangay Alas-Asin, Mariveles, Bataan with a new three-storey multi-purpose building (MPB).

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, said that the DPWH Bataan Second District Engineering Office (DEO) implemented the construction of the MPB, which now serves as an added venue for conducting various activities inside the economic zone.

With a total floor area of 1,962 square meters, the new MPB is large enough to be used in the delivery of government services that will benefit the employees and guests of various freeport zone locators or business enterprises.

The FAB, formerly known as the Bataan Export Processing Zone, has 93 operational enterprises in different industries with 37,261 workers employed as of November 2022.

DPWH had previously undertaken other projects in the FAB ranging from upgrading of existing facilities to building new structures such as access roads and a community learning center.
