The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished paving a 1.814-lane kilometer road section along Sampao-Bonita National Highway in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
Citing a report from District Engineer Amer T. Pundag, DPWH Region 12 Director Basir M. Ibrahim said that the new road improves transport of agricultural goods, particularly palm oil products, by minimizing logistics and transport cost which will stimulate economic growth and open more business opportunities in the province.
In addition to paving the road, DPWH Sultan Kudarat 1st District Engineering Office also installed guard rails and solar LED lights to illuminate the roadway for the convenience and safety of motorists during night time.
“DPWH will remain committed to provide and improve roads to augment the operational productivity of local industries that will boost the local economy of Sultan Kudarat,” said Director Ibrahim.
The P19.3-million project is part of the DPWH convergence program with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) under the Roads Leveraging Linkages for Industry and Trade Infrastructure Program (ROLL-IT).
