DPWH Improves Gapan-Fort Magsaysay Road in Nueva Ecija

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the preventive maintenance of Gapan-Fort Magsaysay Road in Nueva Ecija, thereby providing travel convenience to daily motorists and commuters in the province.

DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, in a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Regional Operations in Central Luzon Roberto R. Bernardo, said that upgrades were undertaken along intermittent sections of the road in Gapan City and General Tinio town.

A total length of 1.9 kilometer of roads have been enhanced through asphalt overlay and application of thermoplastic pavement markings to ensure safety of road users.

Since the completion of the preventive maintenance project, traffic flow along the road has been improved resulting in a significant reduction in average travel time in the area which benefits visitors, tourists, and uniformed personnel heading to Fort Magsaysay – a key training area of the Philippine Armed Forces.

Implemented by DPWH Nueva Ecija Second District Engineering Office (DEO), a total of P21.39 million sourced from the 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA) was allocated to complete the road improvement.
