DPWH-DAR Turns-over 5 New Bridges in Palawan

The towns of Roxas, Aborlan, El Nido, and Safronio Epañola in Palawan Province were the recent recipient of bridge projects implemented under Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)’s Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlarang Pang-Agraryo (TPKP).

In a recently-held ceremony, DPWH and DAR turned-over to the local government units (LGUs) a total of five (5) new bridges including the 17.4-lineal meter Minarra Bridge and 22.8-lineal meter Buayan Bridge in the town of Roxas; 28.8-lineal meter Parasao Bridge in Aborlan; 28.8-lineal meter Cagbanaba Bridge in El Nido; and another 28.8-lineal meter Abucayan Bridge in the municipality of Safronio Española.
According to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, the completed bridge projects were implemented to promote rural development in agrarian reform communities.

“These bridges will be able to further support the livelihood of our farmers in these identified agrarian reform areas, boosting productivity of our agricultural lands,” said Secretary Bonoan.

The recently-completed bridges projects, which cost a total of P60 Million from DAR funding, were implemented by the DPWH Unified Project Management Office Bridges Management Cluster, and the DPWH Palawan 1st, 2nd, and 3rd District Engineering Offices.

The inauguration and turn-over of bridges led by DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III, DPWH UPMO-BMC Project Director Rodrigo delos Reyes, and concerned LGU officials were held August 17-18, 2022.
