The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the widening of the Tastas Bridge that has improved mobility in Ligao City, Albay.
DPWH Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte reported to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan that the widening of the bridge into two (2) way traffic provides for a much safer and faster access to motorists specifically those going to upland barangays of Ligao.
“Tastas Bridge, which is along Sta. Cruz – Pandan Road, will serve as a faster alternate route for travelers to and from Pio Duran, Albay as it traverses the Albay – Camarines Sur Diversion Road,” added DPWH Regional Office 5 Director Eduarte.
This bridge has a total length of 60.60 meters, a width of 7.32 meters, and a 0.76-meter shoulder for pedestrian crossing on both sides.
Implemented by the DPWH Albay 3rd District Engineering Office, the widened bridge was built in the amount of ₱50 million.
