DPWH Completes 180-capacity Barracks in Zamboanga Del Sur

In support to the country’s military troops in Western Mindanao, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has constructed a billeting facility in Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur to serve as operational and lodging facility for the Philippine Army – 1st Infantry Division.

To serve as the second home for the military unit which is also known as the Tabak Division, Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the implementation of the the two-storey barracks worth P7.12-million is part of the Department’s efforts in aiding the government forces with their daily operations.

“This project was implemented in support to the region’s overall security and development objectives that also help strengthen and expand the military’s efforts in maintaining national peace and order,” said Secretary Villar.

Implemented by the DPWH Zamboanga del Sur 1st District Engineering Office (DEO), the project involved earthworks, plain and reinforced concrete works, plumbing, sanitary and electrical works.
