Viral Video Shows Dog Walking Along LRT-1 Train Tracks, Rescued by LRMC

A video of a dog dangerously walking along the train tracks of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) went viral on social media.

In a video posted on TikTok, the dog was seen walking along the LRT tracks, with a train slowing down right behind it to ensure the dog’s safety.

Netizens immediately expressed concern with one commenter writing, “Omg. He must be so scared, tired and thirsty.”

According to the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the dog was immediately rescued the same day it was found.

The LRMC said “Liberty” (named after the station she was rescued in) was first spotted at Gil Puyat Station and was rescued along the tracks of LRT-1 Libertad station on June 1.

“The LRMC team immediately rescued him at LRT-1 Libertad Station and temporarily stayed at LRT-1 Central Station,” the LRMC said in a recent Facebook post.

It then added that the dog was then taken in by an animal non-profit organization (NGO), Loved by the Gapz – Animal Rescue Inc.

In a Facebook post, the NGO said it immediately contacted the LRMC upon learning of the dog’s situation.

“We offered to take her in, the management agreed and we picked her up this afternoon,” the NGO said.

“She was brought straight to vet for basic health check and she’ll be staying po sa ating foster home once ma-discharged po (in our foster home once she is discharged),” it added.

It then urged the lost owner of Liberty (if there is one) to contact the NGO, as well as potential fur-parents interested in adopting Liberty.

According to its Facebook bio, Loved by the Gapz is home to 130 dogs rescued from abuse, abandonment, neglect, and suffering.
