Dina Bonnevie shares how she nearly landed a role as Mel Gibson’s leading lady

Dina Bonnevie reveals she could have been a Hollywood star

MANILA, Philippines — Dina Bonnevie shared during her guesting on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” that she turned down a leading lady role opposite Mel Gibson, which could have launched her Hollywood career.

The actress explained that she was offered a role in “East of Eden” with Mel Gibson after her stint in the 1988 television film “A Dangerous Life.” This opportunity would have led her to Australia and eventually to Hollywood.

However, Dina chose to prioritize her children, Danica Sotto-Pingris and Oyo Boy Sotto, over her Hollywood dreams. She recalled a conversation with her ex-husband Vic Sotto, where he warned her that moving to Australia would mean she would never see her kids again.

Despite missing out on a potential Hollywood career, Dina shared that her children made her a stronger person. She started her own businesses to provide for her family and became a successful businesswoman because of her kids.

In addition to financial success, Dina credited her children for teaching her forgiveness and humility. She admitted that motherhood changed her perspective on life and helped her grow as a person.

Dina’s revelation sheds light on the sacrifices she made for her family and the impact her children had on her personal and professional development.
