Police Regional Office 10- Wireless Fidelity, also known as Wi-Fi, is now accessible for six PNP PRO10 beneficiary Sites as Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) 10 launched its free Wi-Fi, in coordination with Regional Information and Communications Technology Management Division (RICTMD) held at Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp 1Lt Vicente G Alagar, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City on September 14, 2022.
DIR. SITTIE RAHMA V. ALAWI, MTM, CSSGB, DICT 10 led the ceremonial launching together with PBGEN LAWRENCE B COOP, Regional Director, PRO10.
This activity aims to accelerate efforts in enhancing internet accessibility for Filipinos to bolster economic, social and educational opportunities.
DIR. ALAWI said during her message that DICT will continue to promote and intensify digital transformation efforts.
“We hope that the provisions of the free internet to the different centers of PNP Region 10 will help enhance Police Community Relations and contribute to improve trust and human security in our area.”
RD COOP also said that by the use of free Wi-Fi, PRO10 will be able to efficiently and effectively provide timely and relevant information to the public and to improve the delivery of critical functions of the Government Services, all to better serve the community.
“We are thankful for DICT for making us as the beneficiary for the free Wi-Fi Internet Access. Indeed, there will be no odds that can undermine our progress as a nation as long as we are united. With the collaboration of other government agencies, like the Department of Information and Communications Technology, we will be able to maximize our full potential in providing the best service to the public. ” He said.
The six beneficiaries who availed the Free Wi-Fi Sites/ Hotspots 24/7 are: Regional Tactical Operation Center, RMFB 10, Technical Support Company RMFB 10, Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group 10, PNP Drug Enforcement Group 10, and Regional Training Center 10. ###
