Cops to Receive Year-end Bonus for FY 2022

Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Rodolfo S Azurin Jr, announced the release of Php 8, 502, 008, 690.81 funds allocated for the Year-End Bonus (YEB) and Cash Gift FY 2022 of 226, 515 PNP personnel.

“The funds are from the regular PNP Appropriations programmed in the agency’s 2022 budget”, PNP Chief Azurin said.

Police Brigadier General Bowenn Joey Masauding, Director, PNP Finance Service said the YEB and Cash Gift 2022, equivalent to one-month base pay and Php 5,000,00 respectively, will be released to PNP personnel on November 15, 2022 through their Landbank ATM Payroll Accounts.

However, pursuant to Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion Law or T.R.A.I.N. Law (Republic Act 10893) and BIR Regulations 8-2018 and 11-2018, the YEB and other bonuses, including the mid-year bonus exceeding Php 90, 000.00 are taxable. Hence, are subjected to year-end tax adjustment affecting all PCOs and NUP with Salary grade 18 Step 1.

Moreover, all affected PNP personnel who reached the minimum net take home pay are also advised to settle thru over-the-counter payment scheme of their unpaid loan/s for November and December 2022 to avoid incurring penalties and other charges.

Azurin mentioned that the regular monthly withholding tax deduction will resume on pay period of January 2023.

Meanwhile, as per policy, personnel who were administratively charged and were found guilty by the final and executory judgement shall not be entitled to receive the YEB and Cash Gift.

“Hangad ko na gamitin ninyo sa wasto ang mga matatanggap ninyong bonus para sa inyong pamilya, mahal sa buhay at gayundin sa paghahanda para sa nalalapit na pagdiriwang ng kapaskuhan”, PGen Azurin added.
