Charo Santos-Concio becomes a new member of the ABS-CBN Board of Directors

Actress-host Charo Santos-Concio has been appointed to the board of directors of media company ABS-CBN. The appointment was announced in a disclosure to the stock exchange earlier this week, where Charo was elected as one of the board’s directors. She fills the vacancy left by former vice chairman and war veteran Augusto Almeda-Lopez, who passed away earlier this year.

Aside from her new role as a director, Charo has had a long and successful career at ABS-CBN, holding positions such as President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Content Officer, and more. She is a cum laude graduate of St. Paul’s College with a degree in Communication Arts and completed an Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2007.

Known for hosting the anthology series “Maalaala Mo Kaya” and starring in various films, Charo has been recognized with numerous awards, including Asian Media Woman of the Year by ContentAsia and Woman of the Year by the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards. She is also a recipient of the Gold Stevie Award in the Female Executive of the Year category for Asia, Australia, or New Zealand in the Stevie Awards for Women.
