68 Filipino Nurses Successfully Complete Study Program in Norway

A group of Filipino nurses recently completed a complementary study program for nursing in Oslo, enabling them to work in Norway, as reported by the Philippine embassy. A total of 68 Filipinos were among the 72 graduates of the Oslo Metropolitan University (Oslo Met)’s program, which was celebrated at a graduation ceremony held at the Oslo Rådhus (city hall) on June 6. Philippine Ambassador to Norway Enrico Fos was in attendance and personally congratulated each Filipino nurse for their accomplishment. The completion of this complementary study, which includes theoretical and practical courses in nursing, is a prerequisite for nursing graduates from countries outside the European Union and the European Economic Area to be eligible to work in Norway. Fos expressed gratitude to the officials of Oslo Met and the city government of Oslo for their support in increasing the number of slots for the program. He emphasized that this initiative will create more opportunities for Filipino nursing graduates to pursue careers in Norway.
