Two Chinese nationals were arrested in a police operation in Paranaque City on Monday night that led to the rescue of 24 women believed to be victims of human trafficking.
PNP Officer-in-Charge, Police Lieutenant General Jose Chiquito M Malayo, said the rescue operation stemmed from an intelligence report received about a group of foreign women being kept in three units at a plush condominium complex in Parañaque City.
Operatives of the Parañaque City Police, in coordination with the Barangay Women Desk Officer (BWDO) and officials of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) of Barangay Tambo, Paranaque City launched the rescue operation at the Casiana Residences along Quirino Avenue, barangay Tambo, Parañaque at 11:30PM on Monday.
Two Chinese nationals who were guarding the women were arrested by the police team. Police rescued 16 Vietnamese and eight Chinese women in the operation.
“Sa ilalim ng ating MKK=K peace and security framework ay sisiguraduhin nating hindi magtatagumpay ang sinumang magbabalak ng masama, mang-aabuso ng kapwa o magiging banta sa seguridad ng ating bansa”, PLTGen Malayo said.
