2 Vietnamese Nabbed in AKG OPS

Anti-Kidnapping Group arrested two Vietnamese last week for kidnapping with ransom of a fellow Vietnamese citizen.

Minh Viet Phan, 29, and Chi Trung Nguyen, 27, were apprehended by AKG operatives on November 17 and 18 respectively, day after the Vietnamese lady victim was rescued in Antipolo City.

The victim was last seen at a restaurant in the late hours of October 29th. On the same day, later in the evening, the victim’s boyfriend received messages and video of the abducted being beaten by her captors and demanded him P50,000,000.00 ransom for her release.

During the course of negotiations with the victim’s family, a total sum of 1,000,000.00 pesos was transferred in two tranches to a US dollar account.

The victim was then abandoned by her captors at Blue Mountain, Sumulong Highway, Antipolo City at 1:30PM on November 16 where she was rescued.

On November 17 at around 6:15 in the evening, through careful planning and intelligence, a follow-up operation was conducted by the PNP Anti Kidnapping Group together with AFP-MIG 47, RSOG, NCRPO, Paranaque CPS, and Pasay CPS resulting in the arrest of Minh Viet Phan in his condominium unit in Pasay City and Chi Trung Nguyen at a KTV Bar in Paranaque City at around 3:30 AM of November 18, 2022.

The two Vietnamese suspects are undergoing investigation prior to filing of criminal complaint as prime suspects for Kidnapping for Ransom and Serious Illegal Detention. On the other hand, operations are underway for the arrest of other suspects.
