110 Deserving Office for Transportation Security Employees Promoted

A total of one hundred ten (110) employees from the Head Office and various airport stations nationwide took their oath before Office for Transportation Security (OTS) Administrator Undersecretary Ma.O Aplasca on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. A large portion of promotees are airport Security Screening Officers under Salary Grade (SG) 4 or receiving a monthly salary of P14,993. These deserving airport front liners will now receive a monthly salary of P25, 439, and will be further increased to P27,000 next year following the fourth tranche of the Salary Standardization Law V.

Usec. Aplasca ordered that priority be given to those qualified and deserving employees who have long served the OTS.

“Maraming empleyado na na-hire tayo noon, merong 2012 pa na-hire, merong mas matagal pa, pero hindi napromote, when in fact, they too deserve such promotion. Ang priority natin ay buksan ang lahat ng vacancies to all those qualified with equal treatment. Walang palakasan, walang kilala-kilala. Kahit sino dapat ma-hire at ma-promote basta qualified at deserving.” Usec. Aplasca said.

He also added that there will be stricter screening of applications to prevent undue favor given to persons applying for any position in the OTS. Usec. Aplasca vowed that he will exert more effort to rally support from legislators, the Department, and other government agencies, to elevate the means of livelihood of OTS personnel, and continue initiating spiritual transformation programs, as part of the administration’s initiative in addressing corruption.

Promotees from the OTS Head Office will be assigned under Budget Division, Public Affairs Division, Transport Security Risk Management Service (TSRMS), Transport Security Policy and Program Service, and Maritime Transportation Security Division.

Also in attendance during the oath-taking were OTS Deputy Administrator Assistant Secretary Nixon Fortes, Administrative and Finance Service Director Jose Briones Jr., TSRMS Director Edgar Danao, Transport Security Oversight and Compliance Service OIC-Director Rodelio Jocson, Transport Security Accreditation and Training Management Service Michael Africa.
