Police Regional Office 10- Ten (10) members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) formally withdrew their allegiance and pledged back their support to the government at Camp 1Lt Vicente G Alagar, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City on March 4, 2023.
Said members are identified in their aliases as Spider, Kulot, Dats, Bombet, Waldo, Da Tuko, Bolt, Bing-bing, Pugon, and Joshua all operating in some parts of Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental, and Lanao del Sur and turned over one (1) barret-type sniper rifle to the authorities.
PBGEN LAWRENCE B COOP, Regional Director, said in his statement that these personalities were deceived by the NPA’s false promises.
“The NPA deceived them that they will provide these people financial stability, free education, allowances, etc., But everything was a lie, and these individuals have finally come to realize that the difficulty they experienced in the mountain is pointless,” he said.
PBGEN COOP then expressed his elation because they will now experience being a citizen where they can live peacefully and start anew with their family.
“It’s heartwarming that they wanted to surrender because they were able to genuinely feel the government’s program that channeled in PNPs intensified campaigns in ending local communist armed conflict,” he added.
Further, he also commended the operating units for the successful conduct of one-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) on March 31, 2023, in which PRO10 arrested a total of 161 personalities regionwide.
“This is a manifestation that our unity is a great weapon in putting criminality into its demise. Patuloy po tayong magkaisa at sabay-sabay po tayong umusbong para sa isang mapayapa, matiwasay at maunlad na Pilipinas, lalong lalo na dito sa Hilagang Mindanao.”
